**Using This Site** / # **Site Guide** ### Search, Navigation, and Citations *** #### Single Word or Phrase Search Use the search tool to scan across all pages to find specific terms and phrases. Search by a **single word** or by a **"phrase enclosed in quotation marks."** The more precise your query, the more focused your results — but remember the search results will be an **exact match** to your **single word** or **"phrase enclosed in quotation marks."** *** #### Diacritical Marks Baha'i writings, words, and names have been translated from Persian/Arabic into English with transliterated spellings utilizing grammatical diacritical marks to assist in pronunciation. Diacritical marks can appear above, below, or alongside letters within a word. The spelling of Baha'u'llah with proper diacritical marks is a perfect example: **Bahá’u’lláh** The marks above the ***a*** are acute accents and on either side of the ***u*** are "curly" right side single quote marks that represent Arabic consonants not found in English — specifically _hamza_ (ء) and _‘ayn_ (ع). The Baha'i writings in books, publications, and online all support and present with proper transliterated diacritical marks — as typeset works should. But the modern everyday written English spelling for Bahá’u’lláh is **Baha'u'llah**, omitting the acute accents above the ***a*** and replacing the "curly" single quotes on either side of the ***u*** with straight quote marks. Because the majority of the content on this site has been written in modern everyday English **we've done all we can to eliminate the use of diacritical marks** across the site to benefit the use of the search tool. *** #### Alternate Spellings Search cannot discern between the same word without diacritical marks as being the same as the word with diacritical marks or even other accepted spellings for the word. For example a search for ***Acca*** — the location of the Shrine of Baha'u'llah — will not produce a result that includes ***Akka***, ***‘Akká***, ***Akko***, or ***Acre***, which all are accepted alternate spellings. We've done all we can to standardize the spelling of some terms across the site. Be aware that standardization cannot, for example, change the name of the book *Ten Days in the Light of Acca* to another spelling for ‘Akká. In certain situations a less popular, or dated, spelling may take precedent over a more popular or commonly accepted one. *** #### A.I. or Assisted Search Unlike current browsers and chat systems our search does not understand anything beyond a direct one to one text match for a single word or a phrase. Requests for explanations, summaries, and other A.I. related search prompts can be made with external services referencing the site URL or single pages. Upload PDFs when available to AI services for assisted understanding. *** #### Unexpected Results Much of the work by Dr. Leland Jensen, as well as other authors on this site, include refutations and arguments that reference letters and documents by Covenant-breakers. In some cases those source documents are also hosted here as evidence for your investigation and they **will be** included in your search results when using matched words and phrases. *** #### Citations **Understanding Authorship and Context** >***Please review the source, author, and date of any document carefully before quoting from it or drawing conclusions about what Dr. Jensen, this site, or Baha'is believe or represent.*** This archive includes works by Covenant-breakers, included solely for research and refutation purposes — their presence does not indicate endorsement.
