**Endnotes:**
**1.** \[Editor's note: 'Alí Nakhjavání, the man on the far left, was a pioneer in Cameroon and was subsequently dubbed a Knight of Baha'u'llah for that service. In 1963 he became a member of the Universal House of Justice elected without a Guardian — a body that, lacking the Guardian as its president and member for life as required by the Will and Testament of 'Abdu'l-Bahá, is not recognized as the legitimate Universal House of Justice. He is also the author of the article *The Ten Year Crusade and the Knights of Baha'u'llah* (See [[Roll of Honor - Baha'i World 20]].), which, read alongside our endnotes on that page, provides useful background on the accomplishments of the Crusade and the Knights. Born in Persia into a family acquainted with 'Abdu'l-Baha, he grew up in Haifa — yet went on to side with the Hands of the Cause in violation of the Covenant.]
